Peak, Part II

Maddie's Corner Closet!

A needle felted scarf from Pagewood Farms is on display surrounded by yarns from  Classic Elite, Mountain Colors & so many more

Mirasol Ushya & some Thick & Quick yarns cover what used to be a window, then it was a mirror, now it's hang-y yarn!

Another new Ann-fave - Araucania PANGUIPULLI - the colors move everso beautifully while being a wonderful wrapped yarn.

Lots of superwash yarns fill our cradle - great for toys, blankets, hats, jumpsuits - anything for the younger set.

Noel Night 2011

Meet Dorian Gray - many of you many have worked yarn from his fleece!

Peg & Woody are Dorian Gray & McKenna's humans - both parties are pretty lucky, I'd say!
NoMan checks out our festive front yard "ornaments".
How many ways do they love Woody?

Are you imagining your fingers pushed deep into these softest of fleeces?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL FROM YOUR ALPACAS!

No dreadlocks of your own? How about a portable set? This embellishment could really be added to any hat, but I think the pink is perfect!

Corey"s Baby Socks

A local knitter has a new niece! Fab baby socks with leftover sock yarn - if you are nervous about making socks for yourself, start w/a baby pair to learn the techniques of heal turning & toe decreasing with just a few stitches! I cannot take credit for this idea - Cat Bordhi has been using it for years!

Ginger, the consummate teacher, is showing a native Peruvian how to knit on 2 circular needles at once - I think all the colors in this photo are just scrumptious!

Josie's Sheep

How cute is this little guy? Josie knit it in Kansas, where she lives now - I think it needs several buddies - or at least a black counterpart!

These are some of Kate Rideout's recent hat creations. I love her eye for color & I modestly say the yarns are some fabulous fibers.

 Nice job, Kate!

Suzy Knitting at El Prado

How happy is this knitter? A beautiful fall day at Ginger's mesa house, lovingly referred to as El Prado. The scarf is a combination of Berroco's Peruvia & Gioello by Filatura di Crosa - it's already finished & on its way to Suzy's friend, Lynn.

LakeTiticaca Pictures

Here we have Ginger practicing her new weaving technique while cruising @ high speed on Lake Titicaca - looks like a nice day for a boat ride!

These are wild vicuna, on the shores of L. Titicaca - looks like a good life to me!

Need a costume idea?

Another cool weaving technique from Ginger in Peru

"These small pieces are the result of hours of work learning backstrap weaving, pick-up designs, tubular weaving and finally tubular weaving as it is attached to fabric. Our brains throbbed after our lessons."

Good job, Ginger!

Peruvian Weaver

This is just in from Ginger, who is studying textiles, weaving & indigenous practices somewhere in Peru (I should know). Her comment, "harder than it looks". Love the pattern being produced with great colors!

This fun yarn is new @ Needle Rock & so easy to quickly knit up into a fabulous accessory scarf for anyone, young or old & probably female. 47 yards goes FAST & we've got an assortment of colors now.

I know we mentioned this project in our last Needle Rocket, but the yarn literally walks out the door, so we wanted our loyal customers to get in on this ultra speedy gift idea.

Good job on the crocheted flower mobile, Lynette. Very creative use of chopsticks too!

& we love Peggy Sue's new sweater jacket that is NOT two-toned, (my camera-phone is not too zippy) - it is, in fact, a gorgeous deep olive green & looks great on PSR
