ROCKtober Needle Rocket

Needle Rocket, ROCKtober 2008

Dear Fiber Enthusiast,
Fall has arrived with a gorgeous display of golden aspen leaves, red oak, purple willows and sparkling snow on the peaks.
We truly hope you have had a glimpse of the beauty in this valley recently. We have been busy selling and using the yarns which compliment these fall colors with mohair shrugs, “Fall Leaf Scarves,” autumn mittens and hats to keep your head cozy.
Our Pajama Party was a huge success and loads of fun. Naturally, we had tons of food and great pj’s and robes to admire. Next year we’ll have to follow up with a PJ Party Leftover Lunch. Our other special event recently was Purl In the Park on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was too chilly to purl outside, so we were forced to gather in the shop with our coffee and pastries. At least we were dressed warmly.

Have you heard that the IN yarn this fall is TWEED? We have several yummy yarns to choose from. Our newest is from the Queensland Collection, a wool, alpaca, and Donegal blend in 12 lovely colors. In addition, Tahki’s Sedona is a wool, silk blend with a gorgeous hand. And, finally we carry true Donegal from Ireland which is homespun and great for classic tweed outer sweaters and vests.
Our winter shipment of Mountain Colors arrived last week. We now have the Homespun, Mohair, Woolly Feathers, Mohair Loop, 4/8’s (which is a wonderful worsted) and 3-ply weight. The gorgeous multi-colored yarns in different colorways and textures are a true joy to admire and to work with.
Mesa Weavers have put some beautiful handwoven churro rugs and tapestries in Needle Rock. We are showing them and selling them for the organization with almost every dollar going to the weaver. Please come into the shop and view these gorgeous pieces. And, visit their website, http://www.migrations.com/blackmesa/blackmesa.html, for more information.
Our Telephone wire baskets from Zululand are here in new shapes, sizes and color combos………..great gifts!
