Needle Rocket, September 2008

Dear Fiber Enthusiast,
What a pleasure it is to greet you as we enter our second year of Needle Rockin’. Thanks to all of you who joined us at our birthday celebration. It was a party, indeed,
with chocolate cake, champagne and even flowers from some of our favorite admirers. For those who could not drop by, thank you for your loyal support of Needle Rock in our first year. We, obviously, would not be here without you.

Without further ado, we have many new things to tell you about. Our newest fibers range from crochet cottons to luxurious cashmere….from metallic accents to bulky furs…..fibers for everyone from baby to grandpa. We have several new hand-painted single ply yarns that are perfect for worsted socks, mittens or hats. Panda Silk is a lovely fingering weight yarn of bamboo, wool and silk that has an unsurpassed sheen. Cotton chenille is a fun kid’s yarn in solids and variegated. Silk Tweed combines silk with a wool tweed to soften its touch…you will love it. We have new colors in wonderful Savoy (wool/silk) and Karabella Superwash.
We just received a boatload of patterns and books for you to peruse. Mirasol has Book #3 out with more yummy patterns including some for men and small children…definitely a keeper. We also just got a pattern book from Ella Rae as well as Jane Ellison’s book of men’s patterns. For you talented and indulgent grandma’s, we have patterns and cashmere for baby sweater/ hat sets…truly adorable. Brown Sheep has sent us a wonderful trunk show of garments and patterns….everything from women’s cardigans and scarves to wild “Yeti” mittens and headband.
Our newest gadgets for you include Pattern Tamers ( a wonderful marker and place keeper for your patterns and books), Zips (rhinestone zippers for your cardigans) and Fun Specs (magnifying specs so you can actually see what you’re doing and look cute in the process).
