Hand Painting Yarn Workshop

Unlock the mystery of gorgeous hand painted
yarns with expert, Gudy Klawer! This
intensive two day workshop will teach participants how to create yarn
masterpieces of color. Gudy will share
her rich feel for color combinations and secrets to achieve diverse and
sensational palettes. Each student will
be provided with:

A
personal “dye kit” which is appropriate for any animal fiber yarn
·
Finest
quality natural fibers to dye (a $300 retail value) to include:
ü Blue Faced Leicester DK weight (660 yds)
ü Merino/cashmere fingering weight (375 yds)
ü Merino singles (1000 yds)
ü BFL Lace weight (1000 yds)
ü Alpaca/cultivated silk (750yds)
The workshop will be conducted at the
El Prado barn on Wilson Mesa, a short (20 minute) drive from Telluride, CO. Tuition includes a daily continental
breakfast, luncheon, and a casual happy hour and recap of techniques after each
day’s lessons. Students should bring old
clothes appropriate for dyeing, heavy rubber gloves, eye protection and simple
face masks. All other equipment and
supplies will be provided.
The course is limited to 8-12
students. The cost of the course is $360
for full non-refundable payment received before June 1, 2012. After that the cost is $395/student. If 8 participants fail to register and pay before
July 7, 2012, the course will be cancelled and a full refund will be
given.
July is prime summer season in
Telluride, and El Prado is perfect for gazing at Mt. Wilson and enjoying
