A local knitter has a new niece! Fab baby socks with leftover sock yarn - if you are nervous about making socks for yourself, start w/a baby pair to learn the techniques of heal turning & toe decreasing with just a few stitches! I cannot take credit for this idea - Cat Bordhi has been using it for years!

How happy is this knitter? A beautiful fall day at Ginger's mesa house, lovingly referred to as El Prado. The scarf is a combination of Berroco's Peruvia & Gioello by Filatura di Crosa - it's already finished & on its way to Suzy's friend, Lynn.

Another cool weaving technique from Ginger in Peru

"These small pieces are the result of hours of work learning backstrap weaving, pick-up designs, tubular weaving and finally tubular weaving as it is attached to fabric. Our brains throbbed after our lessons."

This is just in from Ginger, who is studying textiles, weaving & indigenous practices somewhere in Peru (I should know). Her comment, "harder than it looks". Love the pattern being produced with great colors!
